Merry Christmas, I decided to add a Christmas post for everyone!

I was lucky enough to get the chance to buy this amazing Satsuma vase. I am going to split it up into two posts so that you all can see the different panes....the work is breathtaking. Please feel free to comment on either post. You will see the piece is marked, on the bottom, it is incised. I have been trying to ID it, but it is a difficult task.

What sets this piece apart aside from the artwork is the condition. NO damage to the foo dog on top, it is basically flawless. Only a tiny chip on the inside of the rim. Absolutely magnificent. Please comment if you have any info.

The dealer says it is 18th century...I am not so sure about that.

18th Century? I don't think so, either. This might be a temple jar. Maybe you can find some info here:

Not 18th century 1890-1910 range more likely in the middle of those two date ranges.
