Around the time of the 1900's, 20'30's companies such as Wedgwood with the Daisey Makieg Fairy Lustre work were at the forefront of what is known as Lustre/Luster work in Stoke On Trent UK.
Carltonware based in Stoke On Trent UK also designed a red series, blue, green, orange and pink with interesting characters like Shipping themes, the Mikado, Fairy and Dragons etc. There were just so many lovely pieces produced in various sizes, styles, colours etc. I'm happy to have a rarer piece in this pink item to add to my blue and red pieces but there are so many rarer, larger and unusual pieces to collect...one day :)
Here you see the rare pink version. Wiltshaw & Robinson by Carltonware. The Seaweed or Carp Vase.
With the wonderful assistance of Miss Penny again I've managed to acquire this lovely piece...

thank you Marty.
Yes when it came up I nearly choked on my weeties as they say as I think it was a Millers listing I had seen once and thought to myself, gosh this looks familiar. Both this and the other I collected on the same auction are rare. I',m interested to get their worth. I will have to find me a Carltonware collector of the series stuff.!
Thanks for the nicholnack although I had found the mark on there just hadn't read through it until later, was waiting for is to arrive was then going to read further. That pink urn looks gorgeous.Lots of summer reading to do...
happy holidays and stunning Anne!!!
Really stunning piece. It reminds me of enoch boltons work.He worked for crown devon in the 1920's and used stunning enamel work.
Cheers Rose
Rose both Crown and Carltonware reguarly competed with each other.
However the work that Carlton did was seen as a superior style. But both we terrific. Have you go a piece you are thinking of?
All kinds of gorgeous here Anne!
Hi Rose,
They did a pink in your urn to match my new vase. I'm going to try and get it too...
