Earlier I made a post of my vintage cabinet I had just bought. But the mirror had come off while I was cleaning it. To reattach the mirror is a bit above my skill level to do it properly (I can usually figure out a way to do it improperly). Anyway there was a space next to where I hung the cabinet so I made a trip to a hardware shop to get an anchor piece for mounting to drywall. Noting they also had some heavy duty ones I picked up some for my rather heavy first aid kit I bought in January. It has been laying on the floor for about a month and half as I was wondering what to do with it.
Anyway after much drilling and screwing this is the result. Does this seem satisfactory or should I figure out how to reattach the mirror?
Personally I wouldn't re-attach the mirror.....sometimes we arrive at a pleasing outcome in an unforeseen way.
If you can separate the mirror from its metal frame, it can easily be attached to the wall with small mirror clips or brackets. If the mirror can't be separated from the metal frame.......I don't know if they make clips large enough to fit the thickness of that metal frame. Anyway, I would try to find a use for the mirror ~ it's way too cool not to use. [;>)
All looks good together on the wall like that
