This Everthot clock/timer has a patent date of 1938 thus is from the early 1940s. Possibly introduced as early as 1939. The clock is windup, the electric cord is for the appliance which would be connected to it. The clock and timer are completely windup powered. The base on the clock can be fastened to a wall and the clock swivels 360 degrees. At just over 5" wide and tall it heavy for a clock this size weigh over a pound and a half.
Just tested it earlier tonight to if it works. Hooked up a light to it and set the timer for and on and off time. In the photos it is connected to a waffle iron but a light is much easier to tell when it goes on and off. The light went on and at the proper time and off a half hour later just as I had set it.
The six foot woven cord is the original that came with it as is the plug. It can handle much more than just a light. The timer does have to set within a 12 hour time period but not bad for 75 years ago. A complete windup is good for at least two days.

Great gadget and a great page in your link. Love all those old appliances. Reminds me of my Grandmother's kitchen. :)
75 years old and still works. It'll probably still be working long after we're gone. Unlike things made today ~ use 'em 2, 3 times and.........!!!
