I like things that look like they come from the era they come from. It should be no surprise that this pattern was designed in the 1950s. Some people call it a cake stand but it is really a bowl, for candy or whatever you care to put in it.
Midwinter were a prominent pottery making household china in England in the 1930s to 1980s. This pattern is called red domino and there were a number of variants, some in blue and others with the colour of the dots reversed. (white dots on red)
This is just so appealing - colours, shape, execution. Love it.
