I found this at Urban Ore today. it's extremely strong - made of welded steel and thick, reinforced plywood. it's very heavy - about 4 ft across and 2 ft tall. it looks like an elephant stool from a circus. what do you think?

What a great conversation piece. What is urban ore? and where is it located. We have nothing like that near where I live in Canada. Mostly new.

You find the most unique pieces :-) A elephant stand seems right to me ,

thanks antiquerose, PhilDMorris, and Manikin! Urban Ore is a publically owned, privately run business which sells all things recycled from the Berkeley City Dump. [i think that's right, but you can always look it up if you need to be certain]

thanks Sean and Efes! i didn't notice in the dark when i bought it yesterday, but there was a big clue underneath - a piece of tape which says 'Circus Floor' on it.

what should i do w/ this thing?! i was thinking about leaving it outdoors and using it in my garden, but that will ruin it.

      This is fantastic Ho2.
I would sell it - I'm sure there are some who would love this as a side table, as Bonnie said!

I live across the bay - I've got to get over to Urban Ore someday! Maybe we can do lunch! Probably left over from Ringling or Circus Vargas! I LOVE IT!
    12. Celiene Celiene, 9 years ago
That will be worth BIG BUCKS one day - now that even Ringling is eliminating performing elephants. A real peek into the past, there.

Keep it. Very cool! I would use it as a flowertable, put 3 nice pots with something exotic on it. Something palmlike Make sure you can still see the Star.
