I have thirty-five ten and five gallon oil cans that are all original. I have a good friend that owns a body shop and him and I decided to restore some of his oil cans and mine. These are three of my oil cans that I had done. I selected Texaco, Shell and Indian. I think the Indian five gallon oil can turned out the best. Here again is an example of something, do I restore it or do I leave it all original. It's all up to the individual. I love them either way. There is a slight glare because I have them inside an antique showcase.

These are 3 of the most tremendous items I've seen in a long time. I agree with the decision to restore these, as I generally do. They just look completely incredible!

please note that speedway body shop sandblasted and repainted these antique oil cans with hard work and labor of love.

now this is what i want to do with the two ive just posted officialfuel. You guys did a fantstic job on these, i agree, the Indian Oil can turned out best, but there all nice. Did they have any dents in the side of them? How did you deal with that? Are those decals or are the logos hand painted?
Thank you mikielikesigns for the love and commenting! The cans were in great shape, no body work. They were primed, painted, cleared and then the decals were added. Since doing these, first they prime then paint and add a decal then put clear over everything. That way the decal is protected under the clear coating.

you saw the cans im working with, they might be to much work to bring back to life, with the dents and all. I guess im more of a rusty kinda guy, but yours sure do want to make a man polish one up!
