On the net I have found some similar items to this pincushion that belonged to my partner's mother. It retains the items that she used with it ... a hat pin and some other sewing items.
The form is a jockey's cap - made out of silk.
On the net I have seen one similar described as having a label: “M. A. Rich, Neston, Cheshire - Inventor and Maker - The Jockey Club Pincushion”, 5.7cm.
But this version is much larger at 12 cm.
It might well be a piece of June's handiwork rather than a commercial item.
Love the form of a cap !
Many thanks PHIL & TASSIEDEVIL !!! !!!! !!!
I love old pincushions and this one is great. Love the shape and finish on it- look at the button and the stitching! Imagine the assemblies it's been involved in.
