Hey, you will find several hits about the artist on google.com.
The museum of Art in Columbia, Mo., may be a place to start also.
I just happened to purchase a sketch of his entitled New Orleans. It's a street scene with a church. It was done on 3-20-78. I live in St. Louis. Bought it at a garage sale. :-) From looking online, seems he was an architect, as well. Makes sense with him focusing on the church. Seems he likes to paint buildings! ;-)
Hi, I know its been a while for you, but I just saw this. Vic and my grandpa were childhood friends, and he lived about 2 blocks from where I grew up. He was like an Uncle to my Dad, and every Thanksgiving and Christmas he and his wife Edna would be with our family.
Victor Kunz was born in St. Louis County. He went to Washington University, trained as an architect and spent most of his career designing bank interiors for the Bank Building Corporation. Victor designed the home that he and his wife Edna lived in near Carondelet Park in South St. Louis. At a time of uniform, perfect bricks and straight grout lines, he had the builder use mismatched, often malformed ‘rejects’, to create a house with a unique color and texture. He retired in 1950 but continued as a freelance architect and designer. It was during this time that he was engaged as the architect for the Bald Knob Cross of Peace located in Alto Pass, Illinois. Victor was also an artist who twice served as the president of the Society of Independent Artists of St. Louis, which was formed to provide local artists a forum for the exchange of ideas. He had more than 30 individual art shows. He produced art works primarily concerning various greater St. Louis area landmarks and scenes that span the years from the early 1920s to 1980s.
tanderson is right; Vic did a lot of buildings (urban and rural, public and private), also a lot of nature scenes. Any chance you could post a picture of that New Orleans scene? I'd love to see it.

Label on back of painting would tend to indicate the exhibition at St Louis Art Museum was ~ 1933. House located at 6806 Alexander St., St Louis, Missouri was built in 1928. Kunz was living there as of 1965. He was exhibiting his paintings at least until 1980.
Victor was a very good friend of my dad's, John Junger who was also very involved in the St. Louis Artist Association.
