    packrat-pl…
    (310 items)

Maybe some of you remember that besides being a pack-rat, my other hobby is photography.
One of my favorite things to do is go to old cemeteries and photograph the headstones. I have about 4000 headstone photos in my collection.
Headstones are a window into the various cultures that make up our society, also they showcase the craftsmanship of the lost art of stone cutting.
What you see here are porcelain or ceramic headstone photographs, which were attached to the stone itself. I find these fascinating.
I would like to post some of my old headstone photos, however, I will refrain from doing so if the admin. or majority of viewers ask me not to.

    Thank you for looking,
    Chuck

I wonder what the exact process was for creating these photos as they have stood the test of time.
As a genealogist, these would be a great resource, as most original photos are long gone.

Thank you everyone very much for the love. walksoftly, I have not been able to find out how they did it in the past. Yes, these are a great tool, I have photographed several hundred of these, and have researched some of the more interesting headstones in my photo collection, what amazing history.

I LOVE Cemeteries. I live near Colma, CA - the City Of The Dead - Literally. And I too LOVE the grave photos. I've spent many happy hours at the cemeteries.
