I bought this trunk from my sister's friend at a yard sale. I'm clueless as to what kind or any history on it. Any help would be appreciated. This isn't for sale. I'm wanting to restore it to original condition.
I have one much like it--Un-restored but in better condition and I'm going to continue to keep it as is. Wood & Leather straps still there, orig paint still somewhat shiny. Had it 30 years and packed with treasure. Treasure= junk! Hee Hee. They are great for storage--You should have a good time restoring it. There are "how to" books, etc that would be helpful..
Yes, Brunswick Russellville is about 25 miles down Hwy 24 from where I live. Small world!
Postcard collector, do you have any history on your trunk? The thing that puzzles me is, the wood strips on the top is vertical instead of horizontal. All the pictures I've seen, the strips of wood are horizontal. I'm wondering if someone may have made this one? I can't find any markings on it except for the lock. It says Eagle Lock Company, Terryville, Conn.
I have a heap of things on it including a mattress and pad. When my great-grandson gets over for a visit--We will look--Wood strips vertical I do know, and there is a name on the lock. The trunk has been buried in the garage for quite a spell. I think it has a load of old sheet music in it.'I will find out these things and maybe get a photo for you. Stay tuned.
