Well, I got taken but really did I think I could find the real thing in a thrift store??? ot the 2 vases about 8 years ago ? at a local thrift store in my hometown for $3 each. Well, I really feel stupid...fake China vases...found the 3rd one I bought...same time, same price, same place...it's dark green with reddish orange daisy like flowers and there it was on the bottom...the "made in China" sticker. Well I did say that I bought them because I thought the were pretty.

      These are pretty!
The "real thing" can be found in thrift stores and flea markets. It's a matter of luck - being in the right place at the right time. Keep your eyes peeled. I used to tell my friends that I would never find a piece of Lalique in a thrift shop or at the flea markets. This past weekend, I got my piece of signed Lalique - out of a thrift shop for 1.50.

What matters is that you like something. Where it was made isn't so important.

      They are lovely vases.
I am more and more impressed with Chinese glass. They have a huge industry, long history, and skilled glass artisans. The label means little if the glass is good and more importantly, you love it!
