I was pretty sure just from reading the label and seeing the hole that it was originally battery-operated.
I'm thinking it was in the '20s, but someone wired the lamp, likely because a battery was no longer needed and they didn't wanna purchase (or couldn't find the size of) a new one.
The inner wiring is totally beyond me (looks nothing like I've seen before), but the cord is damaged and it must be rewired, so I'll have to figure it out as I do want to use it.
It does still work.
Globe is a Rayo Pony CB Bullseye ground on top and bottom with light-focusing lense. It is likely not original to the lamp.
Love it .....it has so Much Character !!! Great Piece !!!
Thank you, Antique Rose. You'll love it even more when I re-post it, as I've polished it up and am about to rewire it tonight.
