Hey all. Was wondering if anyone could help me date this. Don't need or want a value, it is in my forever-collection. It is a Carins leather helmet I picked up. No date code on the medallion. No chin strap (never had one). No visor or eye protection.

Dave, thank you, but it is from New York (not New Jersey). Also it has no date code. What about it makes you think that?

?? I never stated were its from? I found one exactly the same with a circa date of 1960.

Just a quick update. Here is what I got from MSA/Cairns.

The helmet is a genuine leather G5A presentation helmet. We still make these today, but now we only offer the carved eagle front holder- not the silk-screen front holder.

Your helmet was made prior to approx April 1947- when the plant moved from New York to New Jersey (the disk inside your helmet still shows NY).
