This is a pie safe, made of pine, painted in old blue paint. The original apple green color can be seen in areas where the blue paint has worn away from years of use. This safe has twelve punched tin panels with a pinwheel design, six in front, and three on each side. Often you will only find the punched tins on the front. Once the first tin was finished, it was used as a template for the others so they would all be the same. If you notice, there is a drawer near the bottom of the pie safe. There are three shelves inside. Square nails were used in the construction.

Very nice, indeed! I love punched tin! I can't say, I've seen a pie safe, w/ a functional drawer, on the bottom...great practical touch.
