Here is a Esquire Beer Neon Sign from the Flock Brewing Company located in Williamsport, PA. This Esquire Beer Neon Sign is from the 1930’s era and is in excellent condition for it’s age. The tagline “Esquire A Man’s Beer” was used for a short time by the Flock Brewery around that 1930’s time period; the tagline was also used on a cardboard sign and a ball tap knob too. This sign was made by the Lackner Sign Company located in Cincinnati, OH. It’s made of a metal body with thick etched and reverse-painted glass front and is outlined in a white neon tubing.
It is especially attractive and eye-catching when lite but still graphically pleasing when off. When lite the graphics and text almost appear three dimensional from the sign. Signs like these would have been displayed on the bar back in taverns to promote the Flock Brewery’s Esquire Beer. This particular Esquire Beer Neon Sign is the only known surviving Flock’s Beer neon sign style in existence which make it a one-of-a-kind. I’m very happy to own and have it in my personal collection.
Esquire - A Man's Beer - Nice Neon.
Thanks Buckethead! It's one of my favorite signs in my breweriana collection. I recently picked up a matching ball tap knob too.
