A somewhat rounded top trunk. A cross between a camelback and a flat topped trunk.
This trunk and I have been together since I bought in 1979. I paid $100 for it then which was probably a bit much. The original latch is missing and replaced with a latch for a paddle lock. Also there is no tray.
But it does have nice color and good artwork in the interior of the lid. It is metal with wood reinforcement.
I have a couple views not normally seen. The back and the underside. It has wheels on the bottom. They are fixed and only work when the trunk is pushed lengthwise.

That's a good looking early 1900's monitor top (some folks call it a waterfall) trunk. I love the lithograph inside the lid. Looks to be in pretty solid condition still. You didn't do too bad on the price.

very nice metal covered monitor, if you like the way it looks, you could bring a little more life to it with a light restoration by doing a light sanding to the wood slats, a little walnut stain and tongue oil, brighten up your hardware with steel wool and polish the body of the trunk with some Johnson's paste wax, if you wanted.

Thought I'd reply here and see if you (fortapache) still have this trunk. I'm trying to identify a similar 'Monitor' and came across a picture of yours. Mine has similar hardware so I'm wondering if you know the maker of your fine example?

Thank you very much but Sadly Trunk N but the maker of mine remains unkown.
