i bought this at a yard sale in alabama. my plans are to restore it but im not sure on the particulars on what collectors look for. i dont really plan on selling it but i want it to be in tip top shape and something a "REAL COLLECTOR" would want to have if i were to sell it. just need some tips on how and what i need to keeps original ie. like original screws and stuff like that.
thanks
eric
"Real collectors" want a restored cooler to look perfect to the eye. Anything short of perfect is not sellable, unless it is in an excellent vintage condition. Much like an automobile. These coolers aren't very desirable to normal collector of original items, and I don't think they are that desirable among machine collector's either.
thanks for the info, but what makes these not desirable? i am just asking because i am new to all of this.
when you chang the orignal colors and you cut corners on the workmanship and materials in the restoration proces that is just my opinion
WESTINGHOUSE MODEL WD 12 COOLER
where is the thermenstat for the cooler, freezes up
look at my second picture. i think the black box between you and the motor is it. im not 100% on that though.
i have a wd-12 coke cooler with the cooler coils in the corner is this a wet or dry cooler also has a water line in it. I am new to this and would appreciate an info.
