You either love it or you hate it. This was one of the first things I saw when I entered the flea market at 8 a.m. this morning. It is in absolutely pristine condition. Nearly all of them with this design have pewter lids. Don't know which company produced it. I did find a similar one which was made in Japan.
Thanks for stopping by.
Bonnie
I love German beer steins and this one is such a beautiful beer stein! Great find!
I will take the middle of the road with this one Bonnie!!! That wolf? on the side is a bit cute though lol.

Haha....what a dope here......of course it is a fox lol......I had bear to start with then wolf........!!!
@Judy - LMAO!!! Have another cup of coffee.... :-))))
Nice one Bonnie, I'm sure that I have one just like that! :^) If I could find it in one of my sheds, or the garage, I could show it to you, but that ain't goin to happen! ! ! :^D
bill - it will turn up...some day! :-)))))
Haha Bonnie.....all good with the coffee.....the problem is the lack of cigarettes LOL...have not had one for 9 weeks now!!! Have been smoking since about 17 and am now 64......that is a lot for the body and brain to deal with and be able to function properly lol!!
JUDY - proud of you, girl.....keep up the good work!! And for goodness sake, stay away from those electronic cigs.
Thanks Bonnie, will do!! :))
As a former collector of German beer steins Bonnie, I can appreciate the quirkiness and wonderful design of yours! Thanks for sharing!
It says: "The Green Heath. The Hunter's Freud." (They Misspelled Freund for friend!)
Or is that another way to spell friend in old German or something? Look up the phrase,and there are a TON of these all spelled the same.
Celiene - Thanks, I do understand the German. "Freud" is an old German dialect/slang word. Here is a stein from the early 1900s, same spelling:

@Rick55 - thanks so much!
Hi, I'm so proud I just made my first post to CW of my friends stein. I'd looked real close at the bottom and noticed what appears to be a number 6 under the glaze, I promise you I have no clue about any of this stuff but that same mark is on this one also. Is this my imagination Bonnie? Call me crazy!
Thanks!
