Trying to figure out if this 4 in 1 dutch oven set is Griswold, has a cross inside the star, has no fire ring on either piece, no markings on the bottom piece ?

My mom has one just like it. Says that the cross means griswald. This is not a lodge cast iron.

sean, Click on the link I provided above and I think you will see that it is Lodge not Griswold.

This 4-1 skillet was made by the Lodge Mfg COmpany of South Pittsburg Tennessee. Ledge quite producing this in the 1980's. It is a nice older, but not antique piece of iron that works very well (albeit heavy). It works especially well as a chicken fryer.

I inherited my Grandmother's 4 in 1 cooker. Use it weekly. Awhile back they were sold in a catalog called The Vermont Country Store. Maybe you can contact them and get some information.

I've just recently started taking an interest in old, cast iron. I swear I saw this logo on a website yesterday but for the life of me can't remember which website it was or whose logo it is.

I just purchased one of these items at an antique shop a half hour west of San Antonio - I'm told it is vintage cast iron from Germany. The folks in this part of Texas ought to know - predominately German settlers hereabout in the 1800's.
