Cars are about 40 years old as is case from my childhood, display case was from my fathers store he ran for 56 years. funny thing is when you lift the clear cover up all the cars fall out at once on floor, nice looking display case but very impractical.

Love Love Love them....I used to buy my son a matchbox car every week over 30 years ago ( I wish I had them now, lol) Your collection is fantastic and I love the display case..You are very lucky to have them.....I like the old cars much better than the cheap ones they have today.

when I was a kid i used to go with my mother for a haircut and after she would take me to the toy store next door to pick out a match box car identical to what you have posted. it was like going back in time. thank you so much for posting these pics. this really meant alot to me. it is a great memory.
That is a fantastic piece from Matchbox at its height. Going with circa 1968 for this. 1969 at the latest. The number on the outside of the case goes with the model number on the bottom of the car. The cars for sale would be held behind a counter. The kids would ask for a model number and the dealer would get it for him.
Now all you have to do is put all the cars from the 68 catalog in the right spots.
