This fine Harrach vase stands 37x15 cm. A comparably decorated vase with applied cobalt glass snake is shown and fully described in the excellent monograph 'From Neuwelt to the whole World' page 198 fig. 227. The brightly coloured 'blumenbouquets' are nested by a dense scrollwork of white tendrils, four branches are bundled together and spread out again ending into fine curlings full of foliage. This wonderful décor was actually made by the refinery Wilhelm Hofmann, Prague and Vienna, and a second very similar vase of same décor was presented at the 'Great London Exposition' in 1862, too, shown by an etching in the 'illustrated London News' 1862 page 670. You may get an idea of the excellent miniature painting, when you consider the size of the two larger flowers in he last photo 4, together they just measure 2,5 cm, each flower having a diameter of only about 1 cm !
