Merry Christmas CW friends!!
My two wonderful sons gifted me with this fantastic cast iron Gentleman Rabbit doorstop this morning. He's from the 1960's or 1970's period and though not too old, very highly collectible!
He's quite detailed, as you can see. Most all of these that I've ever seen are always single sided. This gentleman is two sided and put together quite well. The seams are perfect and he's very well painted. He stands about 8" tall and weighs about 1 lb.
My sons know me only too well and know just what the old man likes. They did really well!!!!
Thanks for stopping in for a look at my Gentleman Rabbit and Merry Christmas to you all!!!
Scott

I bought a cast iron doorstop a few days ago myself, but it's a golfer, so I like yours much more!

Happy Holidays to you all from Central Kentucky!!!
Wot no boxes filled with goodies for friends, family or gifts for the poor ? We don't actually do that these days but it's a good excuse use for a day off ha ha. Enjoy x
No boxes this year! I guess I was not a very good boy this past year:)
ha ! Am pretty sure Santa had you on his "nice" list having seen your friendly rabbit. Enjoy your day without boxes. Lol x
He's a gentlemanly rabbit to be sure. I would love to have one of these but $$$$$ or lack thereof keep getting in the way.
Lovely present to have from your sons.
Thank you Wandlessfairy!!!
Gillian,
Thank you!! I only have a few of this style that I've collected over the years. Some of these go for $$$$, but I've found all of mine by being in the right place at the right time:) My boys did really well and I wouldn't want to know what they paid for this little gentleman!!! But, they couldn't have chosen a better gift for me!!

And thank you all for dropping in!!
Love it! I would have guessed that it was older.
vintagelamp,
Thanks very much!! I'm only speculating the age of this, as there were none of this particular piece made back in the early 1900's, that I am aware of. He has a very smooth finish, very nicely painted and his seams are perfect (not like the cheap reproductions at all).
SEAN,
Thanks for the appreciation and for stopping by!!
Celiene,
Thanks very much for the love and for dropping by. Many thanks to you!!
I wonder what my guinea pig would do if I stood him next to his cage? I love it!!
Thank you Lois!!!
