I have never seen one of these before today. Measures about 13"x 9". No damage, which is surprising. I still have to figure out the entire stamp - so far I've only managed to make out the "Made In France" part....calling Pascale!!
I must get a bit of leather or sturdy string before hanging this up. I love the colors and uniqueness of it.
I don't know if this is an antique, so will wait for comments.

Thanks for coming to see my cross.
    Bonnie

    3. Efesgirl Efesgirl, 8 years ago
      fleafinder - lol I don't think you'd be wearing it - it weighs about 4 1/2 pounds.

      :-))))))))

      Wow! That's a bit of a cross!
Never seen one to hang... here they are put on the horizontal part of the grave, with eventually other dedicated pieces as open books carved with memories.

Pascale - do you know what the mark says? Since my French is non-existent I can't even guess at the other words.

Pascale - woo hoo! I don't think those women knew what they sold to me! Looking at the new ones, I think mine is a good deal older. Measurements are 35 cm x 22 cm. I changed the contrast and saturation on the photo of the mark. I see what looks like an "FP" or "TP" and a BE-something under it.

Once again, an answer, and a great buy, for something that's for a sad time though.
Pascale, and CW, what a combo. for getting the job done! :^)

It almost looks like a large R with a smaller T in front, to me Bonnie. :^)

I think I see Bethune... see what I found (use translator...), and click in the text on "catalogue des produits" for a 1960'catalog !

Pascale, that makes sense. The factory began in 1856. Wouldn't it be something if my cross was Victorian? :-))))) Yes, dreaming LOL! I wonder if the company could give me more info on my cross. I hope someone there can read English!

Thanks for all the help, friends! The search goes on......

bill - gotta mind the crazing when you look at the letters. It has thrown me off a few times already. :-)))))

Yep I can totally see FF now! lol and Bethune :^) crazing be gone!

It reminded me of Keller & Guerin so thought it was their sister company Theophile Fenal in Badonville. They had the name of their patterns under the mark, but couldn’t find an example of the impressed one

Looks like you’ve already solved it!
    21. Efesgirl Efesgirl, 8 years ago
maryh1956 - nearly solved! Still have to work out the manufacturer and date of the piece. The impressed mark seems to be eluding us at the moment as no examples of it have been found as of yet.

Yes Bonnie, the colors ARE in your face, but that's only part of this lovely piece... the detail, and the green leaves between the flower and the cross is a great touch providing a perfect backdrop for the purple flower... great find!
