Hello CW friends!!!
My first trunk post of 2017. It's an English made canvas covered trunk from the 1930's. This one is in really nice condition, very clean and very solid. So when I saw this one, I immediately bought it.
It's covered in a very heavy burlap canvas and still retains 99% of it's original factory paint. As you can see, the handles are metal. The lock is in nice condition, though not brass, but plated metal instead. Original tray is missing, but to be expected. Still a nice find.
This one also has a L M & S (London, Midland & Scottish) Railway label on the top.
It's rather large at 36" long, 21" tall and 19" deep. As you can see it works perfectly for storing my smalls in. I actually have 5 of my smalls in there. One day I plan to have a room in my house to simply display all of my trunks. But until then, I keep many of them covered and stored away in the back of my shop, except for the very rare ones of course! Those rare ones stay inside my house on display.
Thanks everyone for stopping in for a look!!
Scott

Very nice trunk Scott! It surprises me that the burlap is still intact after all these years.
Rick,
Thanks!! The fact that it was heavily painted and sealed, at the trunk factory, kept this one looking nice for years and years. Plus, this was only gently used and well taken care of by its' previous owners. Thanks for the comment, the love and for stopping by!!!
