Now I am restoring one and I am having issue trying to find the corner pieces. Anyone have any ideas of how or where to find them?

OK I'am a little confused Michael, are you looking for the stamped metal corners on this trunk that you posted, or are you looking for the cast metal corners on the other trunk that you commented on, and said has the same corners as two other trunks you have but you are missing two?
I thought they were the same but it is these stamped ones that I am looking for. Any hints are greatly appreciated!
OK, I have seen this style of slat clamp, but not very often, I'am not saying they don't but I have not seen reproductions of this style. You may have a hard time finding the same ones, but you never know someone on this site may have some. I check Ebay often and have not seen any that look like these. If you don't have any luck finding any, you could always move two from the back to the front, and put two different ones on the back, or just replace them all if you want them to match. greendog
I'm a matching kind of guy and as long as I have this thing taken apart (finished that part last night) I may as well replace them all. I will hold off on that until I get a few responses here. I haven't found anywhere else to ask yet and I am new to this type of restoration so...
Yeah, kind of the same way myself, there are several web sites that you can order from, type in, antique trunk parts, you will find something you'll like. One thing I've found out refinishing trunks, that no matter how much of a perfectionist I am , sometimes with trunks, you have to except the fact that it is what it is. greendog
How many slat clamps are you looking for?
bjb5859 - I only need 2 of these clamps but if I can't match them I will be replacing all 18. I like things to match. Call me crazy. ;-)

This is the latch patent . which many lock manufacturers used with multiple types of locks, as is evident by this next image.

Although your lock is a bit different it is from the same time period.
I will search through the 1400 trunk patents that I have bookmarked for the exact
lock, and your other hardware I might be able to find it.

Sorry! I made a slight mistake on the above post (posted the wrong image). Here is the proper latch patent. The second image in the above post is your hasp, only with a bit different lock. The first image above is a slightly older and different style hasp,yet quite similar and quite common.Hope this clarifies a bit. Incidently I have seen this slat hardware used by several manufactures, Schmidt Bros ,Crouch & Fitzgerald,F.W. Gromm to name a few. That is not to say that they made your trunk,for without a label it is virtually impossible to say who made it.Although hardware can get us close to knowing (Some manufacturers did not let others use their patents) .I am curious if G. Crouch might have made the side handles since he has multiple patents for those as well as the lid lifter that you have, But without a picture one can only speculate.

Not the same handles either. The holders have more of a wedge rather than a post to hold the leather in a bowed fashion where as the post type like this allow the leather handle to be pressed flat against the trunk. The ones I have don't do that, they remain semi bowed.
Thanks though! These patents are very interesting, especially because my grandfather was a patent lawyer. I used to see stuff like this laying around the house all the time.
