    Hello Everyone, 01-10-2017, 4:00 PM
Here is my Gift for Christmas, from ME to ME, I found this very scarce Oil Lamp from Fritz Heckert few day's before Christmas online auction site, the auction end at christmas Eve, I decide to go for it, with no limit, described as LOETZ(nothing new here).
But my feeling told me differently, I was very confident that this is a piece of glass from Fritz Heckert, I just own one piece from Heckert since I start to collecting Art Glass 2 year ago, when i see this one beside mine, my doughs is resolve.

So I ask a member glass collector here to confirm and get another opinion, and he reinforce my suspicion.

What i like and find really amazing is to discover this item from every day use without any break or damage, fully functional, i just think in my mind, wow someone use this oil lamp in the Jungenstil period to light is home before the event of electricity.

For many years this decor was miss ID with Kralik, today there no doubt anymore this decor name "Siberband" or Changeant, by Fritz Heckert, possibly design by "Otto Thamm" lite Green ground, oil spot with swirl green band, typical of Siberband, on the picture set #3, with flash, bottom right, I put beside my other piece of Heckert(more well know colour decor)
On the picture set #4, i included details pictures from the Brass mounted, very Art Nouveau style, i believe this lamp could be hang also, because of the 3 oval ring around it.

Since I start to collect Art Glass, i start to understand more the main difference between all different Glass house, this start to be very interesting.

This oil lamp have a total high of 15.75 inch, the mount alone 5.75 inch, the glass oil container is 3.75 inch tall by 3.75 inch wide.

I really hope you love it. ;-)

MANY THANKS TO WARREN FOR HELPING ME FOR THIS PIECE, Always very kind and willing to help anyone on the site.
YOU ARE A GREAT ASSET TO CW.

    KIND REGARDS
    ALAN

    -----------------------------------Fritz Heckert--------------------------------------
Friedrich (Fritz) Wilhelm Heckert (* 17th April 1837 in Halle (Saale) ; † 22. February 1887 in Munich ) was a glass manufacturer, the glass refinery Petersdorf / Silesia founded and then successfully won several awards, internationally respected decorative glasses in style of historicism and Art Nouveau produced.
    ---------------------------------------LIFE--------------------------------------------
Fritz Heckert was born in Halle (Saale) in 1837 as the eighth son of the glazier master Johann Andreas Heckert (1789-1852). Of the nine siblings, seven were employed in the glass industry. After the death of the father, he went to Berlin for 15 years to his brother Carl Ferdinand. There he learned the profession of a merchant and from 1863 he was a manufacturer. He received in 1862 a glass-cutting, called Felsenmühle on spikes in Petersdorf on the edge of the Giant Mountains ; In 1866 he founded his Glasraffinerie in Petersdorf, which he was able to expand into a major glass refining company with 200 employees, who also had a glashütte from 1889 onwards. Fritz Heckert died in 1887.
    ---------------------------------Glass production------------------------------------
His widow, then a Schwiegersohn and starting from 1905 son Bruno Heckert led the enterprise further. In 1910 Heinrich von Loesch, the owner of the castle and owner of the Rittergut on Kammerswaldau, acquired the Heckert company. From 1911 onwards, it was called Fritz Heckert - Petersdorfer Glashütte KG. In 1918, the Josephinenhütte of the Reichsgrafen Schaffgotsch from the neighboring Schreiberhau bought the Heckert company. In addition, a merger with the glass company Neumann and Staebe from Hermsdorf / Kynast arose. Until 1925, they existed under the name of Jo-He-Ky as a limited partnership and then the Heckert company entered the Josephinenhütte AG Petersdorf, which existed until 1945. After the end of the Second World War, production was continued in the Szklarska Poreba (Szczarska Poreba) and Piechowice (Petersdorf) plants. The first remaining German masters formed a new tribe of Polish skilled workers. In 1958 the Josephinenhütte was renamed "Huta Julia". The Glashütte in Szklarska Poreba was closed down in 2000. Thus, the Glashütte in Piechowice (Petersdorf) is the only preserved monument of the Josephinenhütte, including the Heckert-Glasraffinerie and the old famous Glastradition of the Silesian Riesengebirge.
    ----------------------------------------Glasses----------------------------------------
All glasses of the refinery Heckert are signed with the abbreviation "FH" as well as with numbers or letters, but with a different degree of preservation. They are vases, tankards, trophies, Romans, drinking glasses, cups, carafes, bowls, service, jugs and bottles.

The decorations originated from historical Pan-German models, resulted from oriental designs, inspired by the world exhibitions, were decorated with enamel color painting and transfer printing and glass-cutting and surface treatment (eg Cyperngläser), could be produced to be flashed glass and in the mass colored glasses ( eg uranium glasses ).

All this clearly describes and underscores a contemporary quotation from the decree on the 50th anniversary of F. Heckert in 1916:

Fritz Heckert's "successors" have succeeded in consolidating and spreading their reputation, and even at a time when the collaboration between artists and manufacturers was by no means as general as it is today (1916) They are always open to suggestions from circles of technicians and artists. Of those employees were Prof. Dr. Franz Reuleaux - Engineer - Berlin, once a leader of the German technology, Ludwig Sütterlin (Graphic) - Berlin, one of the innovators of the German decorative arts and Prof. Max Rade - Crafts teacher - Dresden called.

After Petersdorfer Glashütte had preferred strict patterns in her paintings in the 1970s, she had to participate in the repetition of the historical styles that dominated our art scene in the 80s and the mid-90s of the 19th century. From these years, light gold decorations, mostly in the dainty and irregular forms of the rococo, were held, and with ornaments of flowers, which were then replaced by heavy decorations in relief gold in the 90s. The decorations were also subject to the taste of the time. Paintings in colors and gold alternated with engraved ornaments.

Then came a time in which the charming effects which ancient glasses had gained in the earth by the deposits, the iridescent iridescence of the butterfly wings, was imitated artificially by light metal precipitates. In these iridescent, metallic shining glasses, the Petersdorfer Glashütte, which brought them into the market under the collective name 'Cypern', set the tone.
Today, the workers working in these departments mainly deal with the reproduction of the most beautiful glasses in museums and private collections, with the production of crest glasses of all kinds and with a special article in the glassworks, the so-called " Jodhpur jars before". This type of ornamentation is due to the suggestion of Prof. F. Reulaux, a secret counselor who brought home enamels from bronze to the home of a native of Bronesgrund, whose rich and yet finely coordinated color effect in these "Jodpur glasses" is due to colored glass flows be achieved. All Heckert's glasses, from whom the drafts would also originate, and which techniques were also applied to the ornaments, had one thing in common that they were carried out with the utmost care. "
It should be noted that in all the major glass exhibitions and collections, z. B. the Museum Karkonoskie in Jelenia Góra (Hirschberg) or the glass museum Passau, Heckert glasses exist which illustrate the decors of historicism and art nouveau examples.
