I felt the need to post some more pictures! Enjoy! :^D
I posted the old sewing machine in the first post, and started with the new sewing machine in this one! How would you like to sew something on the new one? Maybe easier by hand! LOL
Thanks for the love Time Traveller, this will sure bring you back in time! :^)
I love these fashion plates ! They are framable :-)
Hey Mani, I know they're great, and lots in the book too! :^)
Thank you for the love, that's nice!
It's such a great book, with so much fashion, and daily life information, from the day! Thanks so much for your comment, valentino, I wish I could copy every page, and show it! :^)
You're all so nice to stop by to take a look, and give some love! It really means a lot! Thank you! :^D
billretirecoll, I used a mixture of single page and two page links on this one, as some of them didn't quite match up, but some of them did:
THE NEW SEWING MACHINE

PAGES 186 & 197

PAGES 568 & 569

I was trying to figure out what make and model of sewing machine was in that "THE NEW SEWING MACHINE" image. Grover & Baker did make a model with that large platform, but those large gears seem out of place.
It's possible that it's Singer's famous 1851 model, but that seems a bit dated for 1863:
