    this lovely ring is from the 1930s. it is silver front of stone has faded a bit but still a lovely piece. enjoy.

      She appears to be hardstone (agate) so the front has probably not faded, just has some color variability. Agate is readily dyed - the Romans were already doing it - so I rather prefer stones like this that are not uniform in color because they are more likely to be natural. She was probably cut in Germany & appears to have an inventory number on the back. These cameos are difficult to date; I think they are still making them in the Idar-Oberstein region. Taking the style of the ring into account, I would guess she is from the 1930s. Hope you are enjoying her too.
