This is cobalt blue glass with green and pink iridescence, On a grey day it can look completely green as in image three. The collar cannot be twisted around on the vase nor can it be lifted off. It was not made in one piece like the collars on the green vases, nor is there an overlap to form the shape. Instead the metal is butted as in image three.
Height 19.5 cm./7.75 inches
Lovely vase stunning colour!!
Indeed it is, surfdub, and far less common than green in this type of Kralik production.
Thank you, Ken, I too find it very appealing :)
Great piece!! I am not so sure that this is Kralik though. Solid colors are hard to identify without a specific shape as a reference. I can not recall having seen this collar on a known Kralik decor, but it is seen with some Welz examples. I would not identify this as Welz based on the collar alone, but the collar's absence from known Kralik production would lead me away from Kralik as the source. There are some Welz examples with this collar in this post from a couple of years ago.
Hope this helps:

Thank you Craig :)
As always Peggy.... My pleasure.
The deep green iridescence in pic3 is fabulous!
Thanks Ivonne, you are right, the colour change is astonishing.
Fab colour Peggy - could this possibly be Poschinger? I've seen this iridescent blue on pieces described as much - but generally enameled with flowers etc. - just a shot in the dark!
I suppose it 'could' be as there's no positive conclusion so far. Certainly I don't know and all ideas are welcome.
I believe Riedel had a catalogue of glass colours from which other glass manufacturers could order. Thus two or more makers could well have chosen the same shade of blue.......
love the colour love shape love the subtle iridescence smashing Peggy
Thank you Malkey, the word smashing, in a glass context, always makes me nervous.....but I do appreciate the sense of your comment :)
Oh this is wonderful. Its shape, colour and the collars Devine
Hi Fran, I think it's the colour that makes it so appealing......blue is so rare, or so it seems to me!
