I Have This Old Aprox 4/5"Frame With Photo Inside And It Shuts With A Clamp ! It Looks To Be A Black Lacquer On The Outside And On The Lt Inside Opposite The Old Victorian Pics That's On The Rt It A Reddish Velvet Finish That Looks To Have Been A Stamped Form Of Something ? Can Anyone Give Me Info On This Piece Era Or Age , Name And Creation ?
Looks like a very old daguerreotype from around the era of the early 1860's, very beautiful !
Not a daguerreotype-- looks to be a tintype or maybe an ambrotype.
The "frame" is called a thermoplastic case and was typically used to house "hard" images (daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes).
Your image and case dates from about the late 1850s- 1860s.

Looked up your case in Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames by Paul Berg.
Your case is identified as 2-77 "Pears and Cherries" and is a ninth plate case made by Littlefield, Parsons and Co. and should be marked as such inside (behind the image).
