This painting is not an original and is a copy of a well known 1955 poster created by John Gilroy. Early advertising campaign ideas first started as oil paintings on canvas; which were then reviewed by the S.H. Benson agency before being approved for print. Here's a good article about a cache of original Guinness advertising paintings on canvas that was discovered many years ago: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/guinness-collectors-snap-up-secret-stash-of-unpublished-advertising-art/
