Hello, I would love it if anybody out there can help me to identify what exactly this is?
I wondered if it might be used in Postal work, maybe a simple domestic letter holder etc, and then thought it looked like part of a uniform, meant to support or hold a worn item, or even equestrian use, but nothing quite feels right and yet I feel sure this has a very specific use.
It's smallish and fits in the palm of my hand and doesn't weigh much at all (maybe 250g or so).
Any ideas?
Sure looks like it's intended to hang from something? I certainly have no idea. But I'm sure someone will stop, look and tell you exactly what it is. Best of luck to you!

Wonder if it could be the part of a lock fixture for a small box of some sort?
