Hi you guys. Here's a nice little Loetz piece that I bought at auction recently. It was unidentified, and shockingly I was able to get it for practically nothing. I appreciate how nice it is, but I don't particularly care for vases in or on stands, so it's no longer in my possession. It's decorated in Loetz' Creta, Silberiris, Rusticana decor. The cart itself measures 7" L x 5" W, and the egg 4 1/4" H x 3 1/2" W. Mounted it measures 6" H. I was pleasantly surprised that the finish was pristine as I figured the would be marks where the egg sat on the stand for over 100 years.
I apologize for missing so many of your posts. I was usually on CW maybe once or twice a week, and I fell so far behind that it was impossible for me to keep up.
Thanks Thomas... I've missed quite a bit, but I'm going to try to check in more often.
Thanks Tony!
Awesome Rick! I almost bid on this item due to its unique PN, but I am not a fan of gilded items nor of cherubs. That said, this is an amazing little Loetz vase!
Thanks Sammy. I agree, it's not my cup of tea either, but for the price...
Thanks for the love Sean, Craig, Jim and Viking, it's appreciated.
If you don'r like the stand, you can always let me have it. :P
Nice to see you back......and with such a surprising piece :)
It's quite nice Rick even with the little guy toting it in his cart. A great find to mark your return. Welcome back ! :)
I'm underwhelmed by the fatuous kid, overwhelmed by the glass.
I understand you buying it Rick!
