Here is my 1889 Singer 13 fiddlebase industrial treadle. Yup - it's listed as an industrial machine according to the information in ISMACS.net. I'm in the process of restoring it, but I couldn't resist owning a fiddlebase machine. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman who told me that it had always been in his family since the original purchase. He had sewn sails for his boat on it when he was a young man! It still has the shuttle, two bobbins, and you can see the original condition I received it in. I'm cleaning it up, and will repair the top carefully, as well as repairing the small damage to the drawers (the bottoms are falling loose), etc. The treadle base is beautiful; that's the original base & condition with the gold paint on the decorative sides. I cleaned the head unit with Gojo (non-pumice formula), followed by a wipedown with sewing machine oil. That's it! I polished off the surface rust and I think it will be stunning when I'm done.
Beautiful machine...
What freon said.
Can you post a picture of the base please? Thanks so much.
I think if you give it a good sewing machine oil bath & clean and detail the stand, you will have a real gem!
