Insect... brooch... pastes... wounded...
That Bzzz Bzzz was for me!
Cheap :-)
There was a white stuff on the body, surely to hold in place a mother of pearl bit, easily removed in cleaning.
But I had to buy an opal of right shape and mesurements to fit for the body... the boulder opal just arrived and is in place!
4.2cm wide.
3.2cm long.
The clasp is an early safety one, around 1910.
Marked 935.
Et voilà :-D
What a beauty, great job.
Spectacular, as always!!
Thank you Jean for your kind appreciation and love !

Beautiful but I'd watch that bird with all the insects around ;)
Is it a pet or a saved wild bird? A magpie?
You did an amazing job with this. I wondered if that was opal, then I see that it is the same piece...reading your post verified that, thank you...lol. You have great talent, I would have never thought to do it like that and it looks fab!

Djama was surely rescued by someone around here, as I fed her with dry cat's food when she landed on our table she stayed for a week around me. Now she fled to center of the village and enter through open windows for begging... hoping to have her back before she get in trouble...
Shareurpassion! Thanks! This kind of body was in my mind when I found it, but was not sure to be able to get the convenient stone :-)
Merci Rob, Bzz Bzz! ;-))
Bijou, yes, a little too much for my taste now she is wandering in the village...
Inky, Sean, Valentino, many thanks for loving the Bzz Bzz ;-)
Valentino, yep, it needed some color! Surprisingly the seller didn't realise it was lacking the body part and was stumped by the white stuff (old plaster glue!)....
Wow Kyra!! I think everyone else has already stated exactly what I was going to say.
Scott! Thank you for what you were going to say!
