    found at a flea market. looks handmade, wheel is 3mm thick, no tapering or sharpness, but rotates. any ideas?

      My guess is that it was probably used for measuring barrels for the bands/hoops.

      Seems some hear can solve any mystery, Welcome to CW ticky, This can measure near anything however I've seen them used most on wagon wheels as the difference between the wood wheel and the metal ring has to be very close to exact (1/8" for a more standard size)

      Yes it is a "Traveler " my dad used one when he made a wagon wheel for a neighbor !great memory maker make me long for yesterday !!
