Lisa-light…
(30 items)
I was shooting spatter glass shades and remembered these little dome shades with beading. I have bought these over the years, thinking that I would complete them and use them as they were meant to be used. Have any of you in your research ever seen a catalogue page or image of shades like these being used as intended? I have some other shades that are made entirely of beads and they have a ring marked Czechoslovakia which appears to be made of leather. The opening in the top of the shades in 3cm.
Fingers crossed that someone will be able to help. Thank you for looking.
Sincerely,
Lisa
These are beautiful Lisa, particularly like the satin glass in pic one!
Thank you, sir. Do you know anything about them? Have you seen them offered for sale with a fixture?
Thank you too to Karenoke and Starrynight
Beautiful Lisa hope you're having a great summer.
Thank you Caperkid and Kevin. It is a great summer here. The weather.... not so much but very good as far as my collection goes. :O)
Oh these are stunning ! I am loving them !!!
I'm glad you do. I certainly enjoyed seeing the work you posted recently, Manikin
Any idea of age? very cool
I have sold every beaded lampshade I've come across, Bohemian is the style I sold but yours are superb and I've never seen your versions before.
They are all gorgeous and so rarely seen. Thank you for posting them.
Lisa,
These are so very beautiful!! Wonderful collection you have here.
My thinking is that the shades were made 1910 1920s but I am saying that based only on the glass and the type of glass beads used. Thank you for your kind remarks. If anyone does come across information about these do please let me know.
Lisa - they are almost definitely art deco - 1920s and most probably Czech.
It would be very difficult to put a manufacturer's name to any of them.
Thank you Phil. I am really wanting to hear or see how they were offered for sale. Do you know if there are paper patterns for companies other than Loetz? Does anyone share shapes for Kralik et al? Perhaps some catalogues are available that show little dome shades like these? I'll keep digging. Being a collector of shades, I am not used to any attributions coming easily. :o)
Thank you Glassie. Any thoughts?
I love these!
Thank you vintagelamp and Aura
These are beautiful. I have somewhere in my storage a pair of clear ones with the beads. If I find them soon I will post them for you to see. Yours are great.
I have not seen clear ones, I will look forward to seeing them.
