This threaded bowl really has some interesting colors. It is a pink/ orange base color and shows some yellowish variation near the bottom. It changes with light and in many ways reminds me of carnival glass.

It is about 6" across and sits on three clear applied feet. Each foot shows clear evidence of age scratches/ wear marks consistent with age.

Applied to the bottom over the pontil is a raspberry prunt that is a very light purple color.

    It is in Excellent condition.

I believe this is English glass but would appreciate any thoughts on attributions.

William Henry Stevens patented a machine for mechanically applying glass threads on glass as means of decoration, but it was two years after Hodgetts, Richardson and Son had patented the first such machine in 1876. Frederock Carder started at Stevens and Williams in 1881 and he too is known for this decorative process. Anything that sold was copied and the Austrian glasshouses got into the act too.
I like these pieces. The applied feet are nice but the raspberry prunt is what I really like!
