Hello everyone.
I bought this ring on Ebay last week for $40.00 and did not expect to get it so quickly! Well done AusPost!! 2 working days!!!
Sold to me as Australian Arts and Craft which I believe it would be. It has a split shank which is not soldered to the main body of the ring but is wrapped around the ring......Jewels1900 spoke about this in her recent posting of a Rhoda Wager A&C ring.
The gum leaves and the wire work seem to be well done I think and the blue stone? is still very pretty even though it has some wear to the top.
I do not expect that this ring will be by either Rhoda or Dorothy Wager as there appear perhaps to be 2 sets of marks of some kind, one on the inside of the shank and one on the outside. Tried very hard to get pictures of them but I don't think they are very sucessfull to help with ID. Will post anyway in Part 2 for this post.
It is a lovely little ring, I will post a picture of it on my little finger so you can get an idea of the size.
I hope you love it as much as I do.....I just love that it is Arts and Crafts. All comments, thoughts very welcome. Thanks, Judy
It's a very pretty ring TassieD ;) These pics came out very clear, I can see a partial mark on the inside, do you know what that says? I suppose your camera is on it's macro setting? I know if it's a point and shoot camera, with the macro on you and be up to 1 foot away from your object so try it that far and make sure your focus dot, if you have one is aimed at the mark on the ring. Let the camera do the zoom in work then see how it comes out. I know how it feels, we all probably do, trying to get those clear pics. I know sometimes I try so hard that it gets overwhelming and frustrating. The lighting of course also plays a huge part. Morning or afternoon is the best for natural light and I know that's where my photos come out the best, I just can't always get it done. (I'm over my head with my newest camera) It's a great ring tho, I do love that setting.
Aahhh, Judy, a very pretty ring! I'm in love with these double shank rings and the blue stone (?) has a very appealing color :-)
Isn't it great when a new treasure arrives to you so fast! ;-)
Thanks Share for such a detailed comment! Unfortunately we don't have a camera now, these photos were taken just with a tablet which is ok for these pictures but not for tiny little marks. We have a digital microscope which is great for taking pictures of hallmarks etc, but for some reason it is not compatible with Windows 10 which we now have on the computer!! Very annoying......
I'm happy you love the ring and thanks again for your helpful comment for when we do get a new camera:-)
Thanks Pascale I really love them too! This one is such a dainty little one compared to the Wager boulder opal one of mine. They don't come up often enough though do they. There were no other bidders on this one either which surprised me, so I got lucky:-) )
Yes, I checked the tracking number first thing this morning and got the shock of my life to see it was going to be delivered today!! Amazing!!
Yes Judy, I saw 2 first, in these pics. it looks huge, but what beauty, and a nice pinky ring! Clean it and love it! :^)
Absolutely clean it and wear it coz it's lovely. The decoration is so pretty.
Thanks Bill, really appreciate your comment and taking the time to look and love! The seller didn't have a size on it so I was very happy to have it fit as a pinky ring:-)
Thanks Wandless, it probably doesn't look too bad in the pictures, but with the magnifying glass it is really grubby. I guess with the stone being open there shouldn't be a problem cleaning it:-)

That's a great buy Judy, it's lovely! Cheap too I think for Aussie arts and crafts which is creeping up.
I hope Jewels will comment, she is so knowledgeable. I know there was a lot of pieces made that were greatly influenced by the Wagers.
Hi Karen, thanks I am really happy with it and couldn't believe that there wasn't any interest in it! Pity I can't get decent pictures of the marks but they are just too tiny!
Hope jewels can have a look though, as you say she knows so much about these pieces. Either way I am just really happy to have bought it at such a good price, I love it :-) Thanks for the love as well!
