Hello Friends.
I bought this just this afternoon. It's mysteries have got me all in a swoon.
It appears to be quite old, maybe antique, and is a hand hammered copper relief surface of multiple figures, ( Chinese? ), beautiful trees, monkeys, a snake, people waving swords around, what may be a religious figure, or a revered figure,..........it's amazing! The trees are gorgeous!
It measures approximately 9" inches x 12+1/2" inches, and is framed in a vintage, but not antique, frame.
At first, because of the intricate design and fine surface, I thought it must be cast. But under a loupe I can clearly see that it's a hand worked, shaped, surface, and it's incredible!
I was hoping that someone might recognize this type of work, know the story that it depicts, and the country of origin.
Any looks, likes, loves, and comments welcome.
Thanks,
Tony.
