I was at an end of season Yard Sale yesterday and sometimes some things connect with you for whatever reason, that are not in the line of what you collect but that collector instinct takes over. Perhaps it is the fact that the local Manchester NH artist Elsa Howe was born over a hundred years ago and had gifted them to the folks I acquired the collection from. Maybe it is the fact the Lunch Pail was used in the iconic Manchester Mills by the artist's father. Maybe it is fact I have always liked folk art... The firkin is even embossed on bottom "The Shakers NH". Regardless of the whys, I will try and find room for these today.
I never would have thunk-it! :^D What a great piece HippieArchaeologist, and to have all the history on it too! Nice find! :^)
Oh! Pieces! Even better find! :^)
