Before exclusively focusing on early wood and brass cameras, some delightful metal stuff made its way through my growing collection. While cleaning my archives, I came across pictures of cameras that once held honored places in my collection and, until now, forgotten.
In many cases, the hunt to find something exciting often dragged on for a long time, and I remember my enthusiasm when stumbling upon this cute, mint condition Boy Scout Kodak over 25 years ago. Back then we carried small notebooks with snapshot photos of our collections to shows, antique shops, and so forth, to explain what we were looking for, and this Boy Scout Kodak came from one of those show-&-tell conversations.
This is a special version of Kodak’s Vest Pocket Model B camera. It was offered in olive drab leatherette and had Boy Scout insignias. (The U.K. version had a green crackle enamel body.) Production numbers are not known, but it is a relatively scarce camera to find, let alone an example with the original matching leather case and instruction booklet. Picture size was 1-5/8 x 2-1/2 inches on 127 rollfilm.
That combines 2 things I collect. Nice piece.

What a great piece Rneiderman! I don't collect cameras, but I've always loved the older ones with a collapsible lens.
