Harrach started etching glass arround 1885, the mostly floral décors of simply combinations of one or two colors is named 'Biaritz'. My 'Kiralfi' vase of three colours, H=17.5 D=15.0 cm, has an inner case of aquamarin blue spreading down to orange and the outside is covered by a layer of 'Altgruen' glass. The sharply etched orchids are complemented by gilded painting and seem to hang like silhouttes in the air of a sunset sky. The top rim reminds onto similar items made by Burgun, Schwer&Co, Meisenthal. This type of glass was produced arround 1899 and was presented at the World Fair in Paris 1900. More detailed informations may be looked up in Jan Mergl: ' From Neuwelt to the whole World, 300 Years of Harrach Glass' pages 320-322 and 342.
