This bracelet I could buy from a lady which could not wear it anymore due to reumatism in her pulse so it was too heavy for her. She told me she bought it on an auction in The Netherlands. Because of the magnifique colored different agates I love it very much.
As I understand there is still left more scottisch pebble jewelry set in silver than gold. So I'am very happy to own this rare and unique beautiful juwel. It's marked 585 (common Dutch hallmark for 14K) made about 1880s.
Hi!! This is a super example of Scottish Agate Pebble Jewelry. My business is antique and fine jewelry I am a fellow collector and connoisseur and yes your item does appear from the photographs to date from the late 19th century, it may possibly be just a little later than 1880. I am sure you know Scottish Pebble jewelry was popularised by Queen Victoria due to her love of Balmoral and the highlands. This is a very fine piece and the hand engraving looks wonderful. Agram.m: Kitty sure gave some good & helpful information, but as I was reading your question, it made me think of a seller I came across the other day while doing some agate research myself: moonzie1001 I have never contacted this seller, only read the information about his skills & training & background - he specializes in Scottish Agate & Silver. I though one day if I couldn't find answers on my pieces I may just conact him myself, and so I saved him in my favorites...thought I'd pass that along.
