Another little Japanese sake cup. I'd like to know anything at all about it. It has a marking on the base and is a beautiful design. Thanks.

Japanese is hard to determine. Most old items were made for the emperor and the city under the emperor so they did not sign the makers mark but rather the ruling dynasty mark of the period. If it was made for the trade market it would say Japan. Anything Japanese is tricky but if you know that much you can determine your next step. You need to find someone who reads Japanese and determine what era it was

well i must be drunk although i never drink , to me it reads kutani , well that,s rather amazing in a sake cup , this is an enigma , it looks like an revival design in the 1960, it happened during that period , prerubbing the bottom rim , i am a not so well assessor , but i think a got a point here
