Hi mehill811, welcome to CW, I think you'll find out about pottery vase here. There's a lot of knowledgeable and friendly people here, to help you, and it's free! :^D
It looks like Tecawitha, and sp rc and SD, so maybe Native American from South Dakoda. Just a guess though! :^)
Sorry that was Tekawitha sp rc SD ! :^)

Pope Benedict XVI named 17th century Mohawk Kateri Tekakwitha the first Native American saint.

More help I hope! :^)
Last name spelling varies from site to site.
Yes fhrjr2, a search for Tekawitha, has to have -Tekakwitha after it, but still I can't find any information on the Artist Tekawitha, other than from the Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. Where there are stores that sold the pottery. You may have to contact one of those stores mehill811, to get anymore information! :^)
billretirecoll I don't think that is an artists signature. I sooner think it is a commemorative item in honor of Tekakwitha and the series of symbols below the name would identify the artist and item number. Just a guess.
Thanks fhrjr2, It may be, and I don't know which spelling is correct anyway! It might be a sell's pitch Tek a with a! Take it with ya! LOL :^)
SP RC SD stands for Sioux Pottery, Rapid City, South Dakota. Sioux Pottery is the name of the company beginning in 1958 to provide employment for Pine Ridge Sioux. They have employed many artisans over the years. The company still exists and their website can probably provide information about this artist (Tekawitha). https://www.siouxpottery.com/category-s/1856.htm
