    Can anyone tell me what this is? It's 4" diam. at the wide end, just over 3" at the narrower end.. 2 1/4" tall. Has no handle (just an oval hole...perhaps for hanging?), and no evidence there ever was one. black enameled rims on both sides; the one on the narrower side is chipped, as if that was the business end of whatever this thing is. Any guesses?

      I thought about that...but I didn't seen any photos that match it when I searched on "enamelware canning funnel." They all seem to be the same general shape as modern canning funnels -- much wider at the top and with a handle.
