Cat wearing Cape and holding a candle. Japan on the bottom. Belonged to my Grandmother, I grew up amazed by this cat. I would love to know the history, year it was made, etc.

Very cute. I saw one of these a few weeks ago on eBay. The first I'd ever seen until now. If it simply says JAPAN on the bottom, it would be anywhere from 1952 thru the 1960's. I believe after that the term Made In Japan came into play. Between 1947 and 1952, the term Occupied Japan was used.

Really cute....with the Cape, could it be Puss N Boots old version? Do not know wherehis Boots are. Just throwing that idea out there...or some Nursery rhythm character ??

I found some more info: It is one of a pair of “Vintage Pair Porcelain Anthro Cavalier Musketeer Cat Figurines”. Japan. I haven’t found the exact year yet but excited
