Sell Grit! As seen in old comic books. It was a newspaper and I never saw one aside from the comic book ad. Anyway this is a different grit. Here it is called cinders and it is spread on the roads to so cars can get traction on icy roads. There are big piles of it at Panorama Point off the 18. Here they just use dump trucks and not a specialized vehicle like this.
The Grit Spreading Truck was first sold in 1966 and sold through 1974. In 1970 it got the Superfast wheels so it could race like a Hot Wheels car.
The exciting feature is the that it actually spreads grit. Or something like grit perhaps salt or sugar. On the box cover it can be seen from where the grit like material emanates. Pulling out a tab on the rear of the truck opens it up such that grittish stuff can be spread.
For those of you at home this is a Ford truck. It is also a Ford truck for those not at home.

So realistically made, I saw these type trucks sanding our icy roads this winter

I'm disappointed not to see evidence of it's grit spreading ability, but that's ok, it's still a very wonderful model. They use to use something similar here to spread blue metal on hot tar (driven backwards of course). I don't think grit has ever been used on any Aussie road.
